Or how about the pygmy hippo that adopted the Galapagos tortoise as her mommy to their mutual pleasure? What you see is what you get. We became what we beheld. And what we most deeply beheld was how you beheld us. Is there a little mirror inside a mirror neuron? Is its endoplasmic reticulum self referential, or are its nucleic acids just talking amongst themselves about themselves while the enfolding histones contentedly hum harmonically with a nurturing natural environment? Who knows? Who cares?
